Daily off-site backups, weekly backup verification, uptime monitoring with on-call response, broken-link checks, security scanning, and the small content tweaks that pile up between major projects. An unmanaged site is a future incident waiting for a date. Plugins go end-of-life, themes drift from their security patches, vulnerabilities accumulate, and the cost of catching up dwarfs the cost of the monthly retainer. Common questions
How do your management plans work?
Every plan covers the monthly maintenance run — core / plugin / theme updates, security patching, backups and the monthly report. The base plan is maintenance only, scoped at around one hour per month. Plans above the base include pre-paid bundled time on top of the maintenance, used at your discretion for content changes, small fixes or support requests. The maintenance is run every month on schedule regardless of how the bundled time is used, and unused bundled time does not roll over to the next month.
Do you need to host the site to manage it?
No. We manage sites hosted elsewhere, although hosting it with us closes the loop on response times because the same engineers see infrastructure and application together. There is no penalty for keeping hosting elsewhere.
What can I use the bundled time for?
Anything outside the standard monthly maintenance: text changes, image swaps, new pages or blog posts, layout tweaks, plugin troubleshooting, small Liquid or theme adjustments. Hours are tracked per request and reported back to you each month. Unused bundled time does not roll over — the cycle resets on your billing date.
What happens if a plugin breaks something?
We test plugin and theme updates in a staging environment before rolling them to production. If something does break in production, restoring from backup is included in the management fee, not billed separately.
Do you handle design or copy changes, or only technical work?
Both. Content edits, layout tweaks, small design adjustments, copy updates and image swaps all sit inside the monthly allowance. Larger redesigns and new feature builds are quoted separately under Website Builds.
Do you manage Shopify and other non-WordPress platforms?
Yes. Website Management is platform-agnostic. We manage WordPress, WooCommerce, ClassicPress, Shopify, Squarespace and Webflow under the same engagement model.
