Overview
Future Leadership is one of Australia’s leading executive search and leadership advisory firms, headquartered in Melbourne with a distributed team working from clients’ sites and home offices nationally. As the firm has grown, so has the complexity of keeping every consultant connected, secure, and productive, wherever they are, whenever they’re working.
The Situation
When Future Leadership engaged BaseHost, IT was being delivered by a single-operator provider. That model worked at a smaller scale, but as headcount and client expectations grew, the firm needed a partner that could deliver across the full stack, devices, identity, security, telephony, networks, internet, AV, print, and be available around the clock, not just when one person could answer the phone.
What We Delivered
BaseHost took on the full IT footprint end-to-end, and has scaled the environment alongside the business across two office fit-outs and a continuously evolving remote workforce.
Zero-touch device provisioning. A managed Microsoft Surface fleet (with a small number of Apple devices under co-management), every unit provisioned through Microsoft Autopilot and Intune. Devices are ordered direct from the manufacturer, shipped straight to the staff member, and ready to work the moment the box is opened, no IT setup, no delay. Every laptop is covered by advanced replacement, so a hardware failure never costs a user a day’s work.
Security and identity. Microsoft Defender across the fleet, identity managed through Entra, and full enterprise Microsoft 365 in place, the same tooling and security posture for every staff member, in the office or remote.
Teams Calling with direct routing. Real phone numbers delivered through Microsoft Teams, replacing legacy landlines with a single platform that follows staff wherever they work. BaseHost also designed and now manages the firm’s IVR.
Internet, networks, Wi-Fi, print and backup. Business-grade managed networking with multi-AP Wi-Fi coverage, managed fibre internet with 5G failover delivered by BaseHost, managed print, and resilient backup, all under one agreement, one number to call.
Two office fit-outs, delivered alongside the builders. BaseHost has now stood up Future Leadership’s office twice. The most recent fit-out included 48 hot-desking workstations (dual screens and docking station each), a dedicated reception area, two managed printers, and five Teams-enabled meeting spaces, an advanced boardroom system and four additional meeting rooms, all running Yealink Teams hardware.
24/7 helpdesk. Day-to-day support runs around the clock, delivered predominantly remote with on-site attendance when the situation calls for it.
The Outcome
- 7+ years of continuous partnership. BaseHost has scaled from supporting ~50 staff at the start of the engagement to ~120 today, keeping pace with the firm’s growth without disruption.
- First-response under 15 minutes on the majority of support tickets, with immediate scheduling for remote remediation so issues are resolved while the user is still at their desk.
- Two office fit-outs delivered without business disruption.
- Zero major outages on internet connectivity, thanks to managed fibre paired with a 5G failover service.
- Zero major hardware faults affecting business continuity, advanced replacement keeps every user productive even when devices fail.
