After 20 years working across Melbourne, the BaseHost team has settled into a dedicated, permanent operations base in Brighton. The move gives us a proper home for the operations team, better client-meeting space, and the room to keep growing without breaking the operating model that has worked so well.
Why Brighton
Brighton sits inside Melbourne’s bayside corridor and within easy reach of the eastern suburbs business cluster where most of our managed-services clients are based. A permanent address here cuts travel time for on-site work, gives clients a closer office to walk into for in-person meetings, and puts the operations team close to the public transport spine.
What is inside the new space
The fit-out has been deliberate. The operations area is laid out around the way we actually run client work day to day, with a NOC-style monitoring wall for the managed-hosting and managed-IT estates, dedicated workstations for the helpdesk team, and a quieter zone for the engineers doing deeper compliance and architecture work.
Client-facing space is separated from the operations floor. Two purpose-built meeting rooms, one informal lounge, and a small whiteboard room for compliance scoping and architecture sessions. We can host workshops, run on-site reviews, or just give clients somewhere to sit between meetings in the suburb.
What it does for clients
For clients in the bayside and southeast corridor, the practical benefit is faster on-site response when something needs hands at a server, in a meeting room, or in a workshop. For clients further out, the new space gives a proper Melbourne home base when they want to walk in rather than dial in. And for the team, it means we can keep hiring without the constraints of an outgrown office.
We are not abandoning remote work, and most BaseHost engineering remains location-agnostic. The Brighton base is where the operations team comes together and where clients are welcome to walk in.
