Overview

Progard Plastics is a Melbourne-based plastics manufacturer operating from a factory in Dandenong South. BaseHost runs the technology that keeps the business connected day to day, the managed IT environment, the staff devices, the network and the connectivity, and the website that represents the brand online.

The Situation

Like many small Australian manufacturers, Progard needed a partner that could handle the full IT stack without the overhead of an in-house IT team. The brief was straightforward: bring the whole environment up to a modern standard, run it day to day, and bring the website along with it so everything sits with one partner.

What We Delivered

A managed network at the factory. Business-grade switching, Wi-Fi coverage across the office and production-floor areas, and managed internet that keeps the team connected without the consumer-grade kit that holds most small manufacturers back.

A workstation refresh and ongoing device management. A fleet of Microsoft Windows workstations and laptops, procured and deployed by BaseHost, all enrolled into our managed environment with patching, monitoring and security baked in.

Microsoft 365 as the productivity backbone. Full M365 environment used heavily across the business, with Teams for collaboration and meetings, SharePoint for document management, and OneDrive for staff file storage and sharing.

Phone system and CRM integrations. The Microsoft 365 environment integrated with the business phone system and CRM so staff can work from one consolidated place rather than juggling three.

Website build and ongoing website management. BaseHost built the current Progard Plastics website and continues to manage it under our website management retainer, so the brand stays current without requiring internal effort to keep up.
