SERVICES / Site Builds
SITE BUILDS
Built to last. We stick around.
Custom WordPress and Shopify builds delivered by a team that owns the outcome. Discovery, design, build, launch, then handed over to our managed service so it stays in shape. No 'good luck after launch' goodbyes.

OUR PROCESS
Eight stages from brief to live
Typical project: 8 to 14 weeks from kickoff to launch. We commit to milestones in writing.
1
Discovery
Stakeholders, audience, technical inventory, content audit, success criteria. 1-2 weeks.
2
Design
Wireframes, then visual design in Figma. Interactive prototype before any code. 2-4 weeks.
3
Build
Theme development, content modelling, integrations. Weekly demos. 3-6 weeks depending on scope.
4
Client Review
Walk-through with you and your stakeholders. Annotated feedback against staging, prioritised and tracked. We bank a revision round before moving to launch. 1-2 weeks.
5
Launch
QA, accessibility audit, performance check, content load, training, DNS cutover. 1-2 weeks.
6
Optimise
Performance pass before production: image compression, lazy loading, caching, render-blocking review, Core Web Vitals tested in Australian and overseas conditions.
7
Secure
Pre-production security lockdown: remove staging accounts and unused plugins, harden user roles and file permissions, enforce MFA, apply the latest patches, schedule automated backups.
8
Manage
Handover to our Website Management service. Same engineers, ongoing accountability.
HOW WE BUILD SITES
Websites we would be willing to host.
Built on WordPress, Next.js, or static frameworks depending on what the site needs to do. Designed by senior designers, not template-recycled. Performance budgets set at wireframe stage, an accessibility baseline checked during QA (semantic HTML, alt text, labelled forms, keyboard navigation, mobile-responsive layouts), schema markup planned alongside the content model, and SEO fundamentals baked in from the first page template. Formal WCAG 2.2 AA conformance and remediation is available as a discrete project scope when compliance is a requirement. Every project ships with a documented maintenance plan and the hosting already provisioned.
We do not ship sites we would not be willing to host. Everything we build is something we can manage, monitor and improve indefinitely, which means we are honest at design time about what is sustainable. The end of the build is the start of the relationship, not the end of it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Common questions
What platforms do you build on?
WordPress is our default for content-led sites. WooCommerce and ClassicPress where they fit better. We do not push a single CMS. We recommend the platform that fits the workflow and the budget.
How long does a site build take?
A focused marketing site is typically 8 to 14 weeks from kickoff to launch. A more complex site (multi-language, custom integrations, headless front-end, full e-commerce) extends from there. We commit to milestone dates after the discovery phase.
Do you write the copy, or do we?
Either. We have writers on the team for marketing copy, product descriptions and SEO landing pages. You can also bring your own copy and we lay it out. We will not push a service you do not need.
Do you handle SEO setup at launch?
Yes. Schema markup, sitemap, robots, Open Graph, image alt text, redirects from the old URLs, Google Search Console and analytics are all configured before we push to production. Ongoing SEO work sits under Website Management or Advisory.
Will the site be fast on day one?
Yes. Every build goes through a dedicated Optimise phase before launch: image optimisation, lazy loading, caching, render-blocking review, plus Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals tested in both Australian and overseas conditions.
How do you handle security on a new site?
Before launch we run a Secure step: remove unused plugins and accounts, lock down user roles, harden file permissions, enforce strong passwords and MFA on every account, set up automated backups, and apply the latest patches to WordPress core and every plugin.
What happens after launch?
Every site we build ships with the option to move onto our Website Management retainer. You are not locked in. Sites can be hosted with us with no management, or hosted elsewhere entirely. The build is yours.
Got a project brief? Or just an idea on a napkin?
Either way, 30-minute scoping call with our digital lead. We'll talk about goals, constraints and rough budget, then send a written proposal within five business days.
